We were delighted with the smooth progress of the project, which has delivered a system that's extremely user-friendly. Guard supplied a complete new distributed control system for the Skullerud water treatment plant, which supplies drinking water to over 100,000 customers. The entire control system had to be replaced, because the old ABB system was obsolescent, and this was achieved without shutting down operations. Guard has also created design templates for the operational control system for the new Oset water treatment plant. This is a big plus, since the same crews will be operating both plants. In August 2017 we signed a seven-year contract with Guard to modernise and replace programmable logic controllers at 159 substations.
We also signed a 10-year service contract to secure the expertise and technical quality that Guard provides.
