Arguably the most open, scalable and secure control system
A future-proof concept
Guard Control is a market-leading and technology agnostic concept for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) including Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems.
Based on our independency and 40 years’ experience from full-range automation supplies for industrial applications, we have developed a robust, flexible and feature-packed concept that meets the ever increasing demand for system integration as well as centralized, user-friendly and agile control systems.
Guard Control is built upon our proven strategy to achieve well-functioning control systems in any industry, which can be summarized as follows:
> Secure by design
> Seamless and reliable integrations of any subsystems
> Standardized, quality assured and functional control covering all process objects
> Openness for data exchange across any industry-standard Application Programming Interface (API)
> User-centric design in line with principles such as High Performance HMI and Situational Awareness
> Unlimited scalability and portability
By abiding to these rules, we ensure that our clients obtain a future-proof control system regardless of which existing or future technologies that may be implemented.
Secure access through any HTML5-compliant browser
Guard Control can be securely accessed using any device that supports HTML5 web browsers. Single sign-on can be configured with Microsoft, Google or Apple for a streamlined login process while enforcing the organization’s password and multi-factor authentication policies. All client and server communication is encrypted.
These features can greatly increase the efficiency and flexibility of plant operations and maintenance in a secure manner, allowing users to make real-time decisions and take action from anywhere.
Guard Control is highly adaptable and can accommodate a variety of unique operating environments. It has a wide range of architectural capabilities, including clustering, redundancy, and the ability to separate processing tasks for maximum flexibility. Additionally, it has a secure centralized deployment, making server management easy and allowing for controlled transfer of project changes to servers and clients as well as delta-only deployment.
Standing on the shoulders of giants
Guard Control is powered by Plant SCADA from Schneider Electric and AVEVA, which is one of the most renowned and widespread platforms in the market. This ensures that all fundamentals are taken care of by one of the world’s top 5 largest industrial automation companies, while we focus on creating the user and application specific customizations needed for your process.
Connectivity is key
Guard Control comes with more than 150 native drivers to support direct communication with virtually any device or system. Each driver can be configured separately to optimize communication through any wired interface or wireless carrier. This approach eliminates expensive and complicated intermediaries while streamlining the network architecture.
Moreover, our state-of-the-art data hub can be applied for secure interconnectivity between IT, OT and IoT applications to fully embrace the power of Industry 4.0.
Advanced alarm management
Guard Control offers advanced alarm management capabilities to ensure that plant personnel are alerted to critical events in a timely and effective manner. It employs a sophisticated approach that uses shapes, colors, and numbers to quickly convey alarm status, and applies this standard across the application’s components.
Additionally, it allows for customization of borders, textures, and visibility constraints around alarming objects. Beyond styling, Guard Control also offers the ability to configure alarm acknowledgment, cause, and responses, filter and sorting options, reason statements, and alarm shelving. This flexibility provides a strong foundation for creating powerful operations control applications that can monitor any industrial process.
